Angels Everywhere
review 1: This novel in Macomber’s Angels Everywhere series is comical, as always. They say that God works in mysterious ways. Macomber’s story here definitely embodies that. At the same time, she in no way pushes her readers towards religion. Macomber makes the setting easy to picture and the story easy to immerse yourself in. This well written & presented novel combines all the best of the Christmas season in a package that can easily be enjoyed year round. I absolutely love these angels. Even though we’ve met them before, Shirley, Goodness, & Mercy continue to grow as individuals and as a team. Their antics never fail to make me giggle. The trio’s new sidekick is priceless. Good intentions turn into some rather comedic moments as he tries to find his footing on ... moreearth. I also thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the main couple in this novel. Getting to know their thoughts and dreams really made me feel close to them. They were also quite enjoyable individuals. Macomber really has a way of making you feel like you’re part of the characters’ lives. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It is one that will definitely be re-read time & time again.
review 2: DM books have always been my go to when I'm in the mood for a whimsical light read. Most of us know if we can't deal with the generous portions of Christian, should not open her books. This book has extra portions because it is one of her angel ambassador books; which was ok by me. But this book more than the others makes me wonder why bother with the angels. why are they there if they can't do anything. But once again I swallowed it because it's hard not to love them. I liked the ending, but the epilog-ish end conversation with the angels really annoyed me. Sometimes DM goes out of her way to establish antiquated gender roles. less

This is the final book in the "Angels Everywhere" series about angels Shirley, Goodness and Mercy, who are prayer ambassadors sent to earth by archangel Gabriel to help answer humans' prayer requests. This time, they added an apprentice angel named Will(Psalm 23 says surely goodness and mercy WILL follow me!), who just can't resist making a move that upsets the natural order of God's plan. Will the four angels, plus their boss Gabriel, be able to fix everything and answer the prayer request in time? I am really sad that there are no more books in this series, I've really loved it. Who knows, maybe she'll write some more!

I "read" this as an audio book, which I often do while I'm doing other things. This was my first book by Macomber. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really great. I have a hard time believing that angels are as clueless about humans as they are made out to be, or that they screw up as much as these ones do. The book makes angels look like a bunch of Chesters and Heaven as wholly dependent and out of control as they are. The storyline was pretty good, and I liked most of the characters. The romance was full of cheese, though. It was cute, but doesn't make me want to go right out and get another book by the same author.
