review 1: I started this book and after the 1st or 2nd chapter, I switched to another book. The storyline just did not capture my attention. Then a few days later, I decided to give this book another try. I am so happy I gave Ruin a 2nd chance. This book has an intriguing plot with family skeletons in every closet and a strong cast of characters. Kayla is very likeable and Dr. Ben is man of mystery, plus very sexy. These two together are Hot! The book ends as a Cliff-hanger, which I honestly don’t like, but I am lucky as Books 2/3 in this Series have been published. I ended Book 1, not sure whom to trust. My curiosity has been peaked to see what happens next to this couple and how their romance will fare the secrets of Ben’s past. Plus, Kayla and Ben will have to weather... more their relationships with their friends and family, as well. Rating 4.25
review 2: So, I've never read a book by this author before, so when I was recommended this book I took a chance and bought it. I've never bought a book because of the recommendations amazon gives me, so I'm really happy I decided to give this book a try!! I've been looking for a book that kept my attention and made me want to run to get the next book and this book did the trick!Kayla is trying to forget about her jerk of a boyfriend who left her without looking back. She thought their love would be forever, but she was wrong. When she boards a plane to move back to New York, she meets Ben. He's gorgeous and Kayla is instantly smitten with him. After a night together, Kayla can't forget about Ben and how she felt when she was with him.Flash forward a few weeks and there he is again. Ben. They reunite and Kayla finds out a secret about Ben that can ruin her relationship with her best friend and Ben. Who is Ben, and what is he hiding from Kayla?This book was so good! I couldn't put it down and when I finished it, I hurried over to my computer to buy the next two books. I love the relationship between Kayla and Ben and I can't wait to see what Ben is hiding. Let's just say that cliffhanger ending shocked me.I'm a huge fan of the author now and can't wait to read the rest of her works! I recommend this book to everyone! less
