review 1: This book is above my skill level by a lot. Most of these recipes want you to do some other type of heating before slow cooking (baking, searing, etc.). Ain't nobody got time for that! Also, I live in a culturally diverse neighborhood, but I have no idea where my closest calf's foot or tripe dealer is (and I'm still deciding whether that's something I'm brave enough for). I'm ashamed I'm not enough of a Mexican food purist for this book, but not enough to take on more than I know I can handle.
review 2: Beautiful book with mouth watering pictures. I love the idea of an entire book of Mexican slow cooker recipes. That said, the recipes seemed unnecessarily time consuming for slow cooker recipes, and most recipes seemed to have at least one ingredient that
... morewas hard to find. It's my opinion that you can make amazing mexican slow cooker meals without as much labor or obscure ingredients. A fun read though, and there are two or three recipes I'll keep for future use. less
