review 1: This was the first book that I have read by this author and I did enjoy the story, although I will say that it should be noted that this is book two and if you like to read things in order you should start with one before you read this one because book one is Parkin’s brother’s story, which you still see a lot of in this book, it’s just happening through a different point of view.Parkin’s older brother has just taken his pace as the new Laird of the clan and because of that, Parkin’s life has just gotten a lot more interesting which is how he prefers it. His father is building a shipping business and needs Parkin to oversee some of the dealings between the clans. During his journey, he and his men will have to sail past the Island of Women where the lovely Kyra f... morerom another clan has been set up as a spy to report on the activity that is going on. And it is this intriguing spy that will hand Parkin the excitement and adventure of his life as they both navigate through an uncertain world of clan wars, spies, magic and troubles.I thought that this was an enjoyable book with a smooth writing style and characters that are enjoyable. I most likely will return to the series for book three to see what happens next in the series. I received this book in exchange for my honest review which has been stated above.
review 2: “Celtic Shores” by Delaney Rhodes is the second book in the Celtic Steel series, and is every bit as terrific as the first one was. This one takes on a different pov, which I enjoyed. Parkin’s and Kyra’s story is so amazing…I like how we can see the different characters POV’s, and Ms. Rhodes does this so effortlessly. She has a real gift in creating intricate storylines and unforgettable characters that stay with you long after the book is over. I cannot wait to start the next one as soon as I can, and look forward to reading more from this author in the future. I have a feeling that we are going to be hearing a lot more from her. less
