Hearts Along The River
review 1: When two strangers are robbed on the stagecoach, handcuffed together, and forced to survive overnight, they never dream their futures are about to be permanently bound. Yet, newly divorced Annabelle Tyler and carefree playboy Harrison Graymoor, find themselves being forced to marry at gunpoint in order to protect Annabelle's reputation. It's an arrangement neither of them desire and are eager to cast off. Harrison is sure his wealth will ensure a speedy annulment. What they can't predict are all the complications that will get in their way- including their own hearts. This was my first book by Delia Parr and I'd probably give it a 3 1/2 if I could. It wasn't terrible, even though it was predictable, but it did not WOW me either. I did enjoy the 1800's setting. If you are s... moreearching for books on faith, arranged marriages, and romance, this would be a good option.
review 2: Set in 1831 Annabelle Tyler has found herself in a position that is shameful and a situation she never dreamed of being in. Running away from her home town after her mother's death, shamed because she is a divorced woman who has been duped by the man she thought was the love of her life. He has taken her money that was her inheritance, divorced her and married another woman who is rich, and left Annabelle destitute. Shamed and fleeing the gossip and judgement of people she thought were friends, she finds herself in the middle of what is a bigger mess than she left. Held up on the stage by highway robbers, she and the handsome young man are handcuffed to the stage and left, found by the local sherriff and others, they are forced into a marriage neither of them wants. How in the world will they get out of this? Better yet, how will she get out of this with her heart intact? A wonderful story of how a bad situation was turned around. I enjoyed this book very much. Delia Parr is a great writer and you will truly enjoy this story. I give this book a 4 star rating, 347 pages, $14.99 USThis book was provided for review purposes only by Bethany House.
