review 1: This was a quick, light read. World building was fun, and vampires and travelling carnivals is a pretty good combo! ;) The thing that kept pulling me out of the world was the author's hammering of Letitia's past issues - it was just really heavy-handed, obvious, and not required. I think she needs to trust her readers a bit more to connect the dots and see relationships between current actions/motivations and a characters past without spelling it out each time!
review 2: Generally I enjoyed this book, though it was not something I would have picked up normally. I did find it to be amusing, which I think was the author's intention (otherwise why would she introduce Bludbunnies so early on?), so by reading it in that light I found it more enjoyable. I was rather ... moreannoyed with the love triangle set up in the novel. Somewhat close to the beginning Letitia has a vision that she will marry Crimney within a year, and if she can see the future, than why is she so interested in the musician? I was annoyed with every scene, honestly I just wanted them to move on. less
