review 1: So I was not expecting this storyline...WOW! This book is raw, gritty and down right a little shocking. I'm a little speechless as to what I should write....I will say I absolutely loved it!Megan is broken, scared and trying to survive. Every little thing scares her, but she puts on a nice front to people. She's running and will run until she can start to feel safe. What she wasn't expecting was a stranger named Nick was going to start to penetrate those walls and she would slowly open up to him, and feel safe.Nick is sweet, funny and very persistent. He's attracted to Megan, but he knows she's withdrawn and is scared of something. He needs to make her feel safe, to get her to trust him. So friends is what he goes for and he is slowly getting Megan to open up to hi... morem, but he's hiding something that could change everything. When the secret comes out will she run or accept the secret?This book was at times heartbreaking to see the secrets unfold and to feel what Megan went through. Nick was the best and I instantly fell in love with him. He was kind, patient, sweet and protective. I was shocked when everything started to unfold and his secret was Not what I was expecting. Fantastic!I can't wait to continue on in book 2. I want to see Megan through her journey and hopefully feel secure and safe. My heart just broke for her in do many ways. As I said this book was not what I was expecting. Gritty, raw, a little dark, sweet, heartbreaking.... Just a roller coaster of feelings. Read it!
review 2: WOW!!! I have never read a dark romance before so was somewhat unprepared for the soul shattering extent of this book. It is definately imprinted in my memory forever. A great book about the strength we can pull from within ourselves under the most horrific of experiences. Our need to hold onto our last shred of our strength, mind and body is all written in front of us in black and white with this book. less
