review 1: This was a hard book for me to read. It is about a girl who's mom has breast cancer. She is in middle school and is the same age I was when my mom was first diagnosed. I couldn't help but reflect on my own experiences through out the story. She struggles with increased responsibility at home, managing her feelings, and just being a teen. It was more personal emotions that made this book not as enjoyable for me as it may be for someone else.
review 2: All the reviews rated this really high, but I am shocked it made the lone star reading list. Of course, I never liked girl drama and it is laden throughout the book along with the whiny sister. There were times that I almost abandoned it. 6th grade girls will like it because they will like the girl drama, the mom... more has cancer (love sad stories), and the wish list for boys. I just didn't care for it. less
