review 1: 29.10.2014 - 4*Pořád si nejsem jistá, co si o té knize myslím.Akční, pořád se tam něco dělo, šílená svou hrdinkou, který byla odvážná, tvrdohlavá, zodpovědná a přeci tak nějak padlá na hlavu. Ale měla jsem ji ráda, pro to, jak se dokázala obětovat pro ostatní.Nejspíše to bylo originální, tím, jak podivně dobře to bylo zpracované, zvláště proto, že to bylo sešité z nechutně profláknutých kousků. :DCharaktery různorodé.Děj dobrý.A zaujalo mě to.A čas od času jsem postřehla inteligentní kulturní narážky, což bylo vtipné, vzhledem k tomu, kde to bylo zasazené. :D
review 2: 3.5 I really liked this start to a new urban fantasy series. There were a few too-stupid-to-live moments which distracted from my enj... moreoyments. Although Max is repeatedly told how stupid and reckless she is being, she continues on stubbornly. The side characters were interesting enough to overcome most of this issue, however. Although, I wish we would have gotten more information on the witch, Giselle. Most of our information comes from Max, who is not reliable on giving information on Giselle, as her hate colors her emotions. In the scenes that Giselle is actually present, she doesn't really make a huge impression. She seems rather weak, and not like the evil, selfish witch that Max thinks she is. Hopefully in the next books, Giselle will get more of a commanding personality and better scenes. I'm also not too sure about Alexander. He also seems rather weak, especially compared to Max. Although I have a few issues with the beginning book, I will definitely continue on in the series. less
