review 1: "Death, Taxes, and a Sequined Clutch" is Diane Kelly's latest installment to her Tara Holloway series, just enough of a story to hold us over until her releases next year! Tara is given a brief reprieve from dodging her hottie co-worker Nick when she's given an assignment with the SEC to take down a set of twins suspected of insider trading. The only hitch in the assignment is that she's having to start her newest investigation at her old accounting firm...I usually can't stand novellas because of their lack of detail in character & plot development, but I definitely loved this one! Diane Kelly did a great job of developing the new antagonist in Tara's life, her one night stand & co-worker at her former firm. I don't have a single complaint - this was a great read! and q... moreuick!
review 2: Tara is as feisty as ever in this novella, as she dishes out her own version of justice to an old flame - who needs to get a clue (and a decent pair of shorts!). The sexual tension between her and Nick is as sweet as ever, and like Momma Holloway, that boys gives me super hot, hot flashes!!! I love that trigger-happy Tara can’t go a month without filling out a “weapons discharge” form…hahaha! Poor Lobo! It’s craziness as always for my favorite IRS special agent, but I can’t wait for her to be partnered up (incredibly close) with the sexy cowboy again. “Team Nick” all the way…woohoo =D less
