review 1: This book really was ok. I have no burning need to read the other two books in the series, but if someone gave them to me I probably would. This middle grade book seemed to be purposely avoiding topics that would put it out of the range of those readers. The characters seem a tad flat, and the story never really caught my attention. These flaws could solely come from the fact that I did not read the first book in the series.
review 2: "The Cup and the Crown" picks up with Molly after her adventures in "The Silver Bowl". I genuinely enjoy these books. The adventures are grand, the villains are evil and need to be stopped, and sometimes bad things happen to good people. As a reader, I truly believed that Molly could triumph over horrible odds, including f... moreinding a hidden city where her grandfather was from, being kidnapped and held against her will while being told it was in her best interest, and finding away to accomplish the task given to her by her King. I look forward to continuing adventures of Molly, Tobias, and King Alaric. less
