review 1: This book was great for me because I love a fiction story with legit history facts in it. This book would be great for anyone who loves paranormal fantasies. If you are the type of person who must finish the book once you have started, then this will be a great book to finish. For me, I did have trouble with the beginning chapters and then I got addicted. I stayed up till 3 in the morning and woke up early just to read. Pay attention to the characters because you might mix a few up like I did, so if it'll help write it down on paper. These girls the book is about are in non stop danger because of their abilities that began as a hoax.
review 2: We Hear the Dead is historical fiction based on the real events surrounding the Fox Sisters and spiritualism. The book
... morewas well written but the pace slowed quite a bit in the middle of the book and picked up towards the end. I enjoyed the book but was disappointed that much of the book focused on Maggie Fox's relationship with Artic explorer, Elisha Kent Kane, rather than the spiritualism movement and its place in American History. Overall, an interesting read that was well researched. 3.5 stars. less
