review 1: As Sydney is getting ready to graduate from college she finds out she is pregnant and not by her long time boyfriend who has graduated from college and keeps telling her he wants to take their relationship to the next level. Sydney is a party girl and wants to have fun her senior year but agrees to not date other people. After a night of too much drinking she sleeps with a guy friend. While I liked parts of this book there were others that left me going, What??? Sydney ends up with a C-section and I never heard once about her being in pain and the extra time it takes to heal or anything. Ethan continues to be her friend and they get together, which could happen, but he never seems to go through the seriously ticked phase of getting over something like this. Characters in t... morehe book or either good or evil and there is not much in between. Everyone has flaws and no one acts sensible and thinks things out 100% of the time so I could not really relate to the characters in question. She makes her mom out to be this freak and I mean borderline schizoid but then the mother comes through for her and dispenses really good advice and support when she needs it the most. Too much of an extreme to be believable. Beachread.
review 2: Very much average. Deals with unplanned premarital pregnancy and its aftermaths.The young lady conceives after casual unplanned sex, decides to keep the baby, against the wishes of the father. Her steady boyfriend (not the baby's dad) and his mother are quite supportive of her decision. Parents are initially aghast but soon reconcile with her. The plot looks artificial and pre conceived, the circumstances of bringing up the child very peculiar. The baby behaves like a robot, and I never come across any hurdles that I faced when I bought up my son ( with the full army consisting of my husband, parents, in-laws and nanny). Am staying away from YA books for a while. less
