review 1: I was really excited to read this book from the reviews and friends excitement I was expecting an enthralling exciting read, but I was once again disappointed. So we have Kat the main character whom I did relate to quite strongly- I mean we've all been there with relationships that made us feel sucky. And I loved Adam and Dave and even Julie on a certain level but Ryan and Kat's relationship... SAY WHAT?!? There was very little spark or electricity between the couple and it felt forced and contrite and to be honest I almost DNF but I hate doing that so I motored on.Let's talk about the plot. I liked the plot, the general idea and the possibility of major angst and friendship drama but it just didn't work out. I even liked Marc he would have been a better love interest and ... morethe author could have expanded on that instead
review 2: I was a little apprehensive at first when I read the summary, but I'm so glad I ended up grabbing this book. Kat Fight was a great, easy read.Kat's ultimatum to her long time boyfriend, Marc, ends the long term relationship they've had since college. As Kat is pulling herself together and coming to terms with it, her tenacious best friend, Julie, sets her up on a blind date. Kat ends up going and meets Julie's flavor of the month, Ryan.A little while later, Kat unexpectedly runs into Ryan. Ryan is a sweet guy who has had his eye on Kat since their first meeting. Ryan asks Kat on a date. Kat fails to inform Julie she's seeing her last flavor of the month even though Julie is still in contact with Ryan. The story continues to unfold as you see friendships and love tested. Throughout in all, the characters are sweet and funny.Overall, the book was a really easy read, but kept my interest. I loved Ryan and Kate. Their journey is a good one. I'm very glad I picked Kat Fight up to read. I recommended it if you're looking for a good story with a little humor. less
