review 1: I read this book when I was in elementary school. I went to a Catholic school, and while there are a lot of mistakes, and the protagonist does have a rather warped perception in regards to what make a person a saint, I find that this book is fitting to read as a child. I enjoyed it as a story of a girl growing out of her childish ways and beliefs, she grows up a bit. If you can overlook the mistakes that are made, you can truly enjoy it.
review 2: I loved pretty much everything about this book! The heroine, Antonia is so loveable she's hard to resist especially in a world where it seems like every YA book features an angst ridden, vintage wearing, sex obsessed girl who hates everyone. That is NOT this book! She's a good Catholic girl who is obsessed with the Ca... moretholic Saints and becoming a saint herself someday while also obsessing about kissing boys and shortening her uniform skirt when her mother isn't looking. So funny! I was hoping for a cute coming of age love story but what I got was all that plus some surprises and laughs along the way. Fantastico! less
