review 1: If you played a lot of table top RPG's its probably 4 stars for you.The book is well done and interesting but falls a bit short of the potential of the premise. It's also very gimmicky and tropish, mostly in a good way and well done, and that takes away from the story. At the end of the day its a good fantasy about a group forced to danger beyond expectation or desire and how they cope with and overcome it.
review 2: I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. The characters were really likable and their adventures together were fun. I though whole concept they were wrapped in would end up being too ridiculous or would get wrapped up way too neatly – and in a way it was – but I didn't really care. The book never took itself too seriously and it reall... morey had some heart. I hope we hear more about these adventurers. less
