review 1: Poor book in my opinion. It doesn't really provide much objective information and background about modern day slavery. Instead, it is very restricted to the author's personal experiences (which are interesting, but from 3-4 stories of former slaves in as many countries you don't learn much about modern slavery). Furthermore, all the talk about Christian lobbying groups and American administration certainly make the book uninteresting for readers outside the US.
review 2: This is information ALL of us should know. Skinner's work is obviously his calling in life because he delves - and delivers himself voluntarily - into the ugliest parts of humanity. He puts himself in danger to inform us of the slave trade that exists, even thrives, in our world today. Anyone

An excellent, but hard book. It's a subject that needs to be openly discussed, but is hard to face.
