review 1: I think all the other reviews cover it. I don't really like giving low star reviews, but I think this needs it for feedback. This story was too short for the coverage of these men and their homophobic confusion. It did not leave me feeling good about the characters. I think if you're going to have a 'I've discovered I'm in love with my best friend, but didn't know I was gay, and now I feel uncomfortable, denial is my friend' story, it needs to be longer, to cover all the emotions that come with those discoveries, and the discoveries are at least somewhat resolved. Like other reviewers have pointed out, it is a total turn off when someone professes to being in love with someone and then says 'but I'm going to pretend I'm straight, and fuck women'. ... moreYuck.
review 2: This story is great. I was a bit spectacle if this would be good or not. It was less than 20 pages and short stories are hard in my opinion. They have to include a plot, with enough background and a good ending that wraps it up. This story was able to pull it off.First lets meet Abbey. We never actually meet her, but only through phone calls. If it wasn't for Abbey, our main MC's wouldn't get anywhere. But she cares for both of the men, Matthew and Arron. Even if it isn't going to work between Matthew and herself, she wants what is best for them. As long as they are happy. As an 'outsider' she notices things that our men are oblivious too. She is that little angel/devil on your shoulder whispering words/phrases into your ear, making you start thinking... Matthew has just broken up with his girlfriend, Abbey. But she doesn't leave him without planting thoughts into his mind. She asks him a series of questions and the answers he gives, makes him start questioning his friendship with his best friend, Aaron. Arron is starting to come across differently now to him. But he conflicted with his feelings and isn't sure how to proceed forward(if at all).Aaron is best friend's with Matthew. They have been friends forever. He has come by to invite his buddy over their to his place to hang out that night. Matthew is acting weird. Then Aaron get a phone call from Abbey. She asks him some questions... which throw thoughts into him also. So, how will Aaron and Matthew react to one another now they are more conscious of one another. Will they be willing to try to overstep the friendship line?? I really liked all three of them and would love to see more of them, less
