In this novel I have learnt a few dog breeds. For example, Minton is a Jack Russell Terrier. The Jack Russell Terrier is a small terrier that has its origins in fox hunting. It is principally white-bodied and smooth, rough or broken-coated but can be any colour.
Coco, Juliet’s mum’s dog, is a chocolate Labrador. The Labrador Retriever, also Labrador, is a type of retriever–gun dog. The Labrador is one of the most popular breeds of dog in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Hector, one of the dogs Juliet looks after, is a dachshund. The dachshund is a short-legged, long-bodied, hound-type dog breed.
Damson, Michael’s dog, is a spaniel. A spaniel is a type of gun dog. Spaniels were especially bred to flush game out of denser brush.
