review 1: This was such a fun read, one of the best Lee's books I've read so far. It's got his unique blend of over the top sex, gore and perversion and, what's the polite way of saying this, intellectually and developmentally challenged southerners, but this book also has enough plot and substance to back the story up. Even a surprisng amount of interesting civil war era trivia. Not for the delicate sensibilities, but for the rest...quick entertaining read. Recommended.
review 2: I read his book and did not really care for it. It is filled with the usual violence and usual rapes and multilations which makes me yawn most of the time since all these happens in the past. There are not that much suspenses and the book is not up to the author's caliber. I feel he doesn't put... more much effort into his latest work. It is just another pulp novel that does not raise my expectations at all. less
