review 1: A "sequel" to the nursery rhyme 5 monkeys jumping on the bed. In this very short book, the monkeys want to read in bed. It's time to go to sleep so mama says no but they carry on reading anyway. Funny ending that made me laugh out loud as it's exactly what would happen in our house! In fact I brought the book through to my husband to read so we made it true! Wish it were longer with more options of books to match the five verses/monkeys and wish it hadn't ended with a scary story.
review 2: This is a nice little twist to the popular "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed". Instead of "jumping", these little monkeys are reading. The mother in this story tells her kids to go to sleep, but the monkeys want to read. Mother continually pops her head in throughout t... morehe story and tells the monkeys to go to sleep, but they continue to read. Finally the mom takes the book and leaves, only to realize that she also can't put the book down.I think that this is a cute story because not only does this encourage reading, but it also shows students how they can take a well known story and add their own ideas. less
