review 1: Alexandra is in the middle of her world of pain, beating herself up for an accident at work and for the failure of her relationship, she packs her bags and runs away to hide out at her Aunts place in the South. Trying to rebuild her life, Alexandra enrolls at college and seeks employment. Ready to start afresh in a place where no one knows her past.Alexandra quickly makes friends and also catches the eye of a family friend who is helping her Aunt out on the farm while she recuperates from a bad back.Blaise is an all round good guy. He goes out of his way to help people...often to his own neglect. Meeting Alexandra is a breath of fresh air for him. They bond over maintaining the farm for her Aunt. Gradually they spend more and more time together...slowly coming out of denia... morel the attraction they have for each other. While they both live in the moment, secrets from their pasts slowly start to emerge...just when things are starting to look promising secrets begin to put cracks in their friendship. An emotion filled story with characters that will pull at your heart strings. Angst and heartache, lust and passion...just the right mix to keep a readers interest peaked...A great start to a hot new series Ms Todd, I look forward to getting to know these characters in the next books in the series.
review 2: The author who I was lucky to meet in March of 2013 was kind enough to contact me in regards to reading her new book and I have to say I am glad she did. I enjoyed the story and liked the development between Blaise and Alexandra however his little secret gave me a headache. I could understand wanting to be loyal but if you love someone you should trust them enough to share all and on that one thing I found myself pulling my hair out practically screaming just tell her for Christ sakes!!!I am not a fan of cliffhangers because I like to know all once I get to the last page. I am interested in the 2nd book to see what other developments pop up. less
