review 1: While I didn't read the MOD series in order (I actually read Leah's book first (book 3) and fell in love with Elaine's writing there), once I discovered Eleaine's series I had to go back and get them all - and I'm so glad I did!!! I absolutely adore Rachel and Sager's story! I couldn't put it down once I started! It's one of my fav historical books ever! I love watching the two fall in love. There were so many sweet moments, tense moments, and just enough drama to keep it exciting, but not so much I was rushing through it. I have lost track at how many times I've read and reread this book!!!
review 2: Yup I'd say that I was a bonafied virgin where western romances were concerned and so I didn't know which author would deliver stories that would capture my
... more fullest attention and sweep me away to to another time, another place, where men were men and law meant looking down the barrel of a shotgun if you did wrong and women were built with a strong constitution. Elaine was my choice to begin my western romance journey and let me tell you that she delivered one helluva, smokin hot series. Each story is unique to characters introduced in Rachel and the Hired Gun, each delivering a fast action paced, suspenseful, gritty and heartwarming tale that will have the reader absolutely enthralled, not wanting to put any book down in this series. Each was written with such imagery, such detail to events that actually could have happened during that time period that it took on a real life like form as you became more absorbed in each story. The characters were so believable, so well suited, that you could almost picture yourself being one of the leading ladies being pursuid by one of those absolutely delicious leading males. Talent is what I discovered about Elaine's writing. She truly delivered that in spades. After reading the last book about Logan, I'm kind of hoping a certain sherrif's story will be told. He will definitely leave an impression. I rated each book according to how much I enjoyed each story and all are over a 4.5 star read. Thank you Elaine, I now am diving into reading other authors works I've never heard of or read but you set the standards really high. Rachel and the Hired Gun 4.5 stars. less
