review 1: I really liked this book. the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is not one I can recommend to all my friends. I love it but it is a pirate book, there is language and bombings and flying body parts, etc. Brief summary: chef kidnapped by Mad Mabbot, the pirate captain. She tells him he will live if he can put an amazing dish before her every Sunday. He tries to escape a couple of times, starts to see the pirates point of view.
review 2: It's been a very long time since I have read a pirate story. Actually, I believe this is the first one I've truly ever read. I guess, to an extent Gabaldon's Voyager could be the closest, but this one is officially the first. Very entertaining. Well narrated, and an interesting storyline. I would, however, enjo
... moreyed more of the culinary aspect to be highlighted. Nevertheless, I do recommend this work. It is soothing, enjoyable, and for all audiences who are historical fiction lovers like me. less
