review 1: I was really looking forward to reading this book. The description was very interesting and I was wondering how the story would take place. From this book I have learned that road trip books are really not for me. I also really really really really hate it when people in books hurt each other or cheat on each other or even kiss other people. It makes me very upset. It's not necessarily this book's fault that I didn't like it but rather I wasn't a fan of the storyline or content.
review 2: The writing here is pretty exquisite. That said, the whole thing read as somewhat aimless and pretentious to me. It's an homage to Kerouac, and as such, it works, plus there are a lot of interesting and compelling ideas floating around the book, but at the end of the day I jus... moret don't like Kerouac and this was never going to work for me. Bottom line, if you don't respond to that style of narrative, this is not your book. less
