review 1: I started this book full of apprehension because of the cover. I wondered if it was a romance novel but the summary said otherwise. A few chapters in, I put the book down. But then I picked it back up because I hate leaving books unfinished. I spent the rest of the book struggling through the awful dialogue and the watered down suspense. I never finished the last part because the mystery was solved. Well, it was over. The book was garbage. The plot was garbage. The characters were garbage.
review 2: A good escapist read. Elizabeth Adler pulls you into a story very quickly. I love the team of Mac and Sunny; in this installment they meet a young girl on the Malibu beach outside Mac's home and are soon pulled into a case involving her famous mother, who disappeare... mored after being the main suspect in a murder case. The characters are very interesting and the Barcelona setting is beautifully presented. The resolution is a bit too neat, but that's why the book is a great escape! less
