review 1: 3.5I thought that the stories were better in these books than in the others that I read. I had stopped reading after book 3. I was disappointed that Lucien's story got swept under the rug and was basically a total rush job. I thought that after all he had been through, he definitely deserved better. :(The book did give me a renewed interest in the series though. So, I think I'll go back and read the ones that I have skipped.
review 2: I love this series. The book was just getting started and just ended to quickly for my taste. You really don't too far into the trouble the brothers are having with the government concerning their discovery of creatures other than humans living among them, only briefly. The book did explain their problems with the government a
... morend Sevin's plans to help getting the city officials to cooperate with them (although through the use of their Salone di Passione to be created in Alexa Patrizzi's home). Then there the whole situation with Alex's ex-husband and ex-father-in-law. Yes, you find out that he was using her to get to the catacombs and back into the family business with Bona Dea cosmetics since he was apparently part of the Sons of Faunus. I was hoping that Ellizabeth Amber would have gone more into details on that background story on the Patrizzi Family and the Tivoli Family. Then there is Clara's little sister Carmella or Ella. Sevin barely has time to register that he did NOT in fact cause Ella's suicide but that it was her sister's manipulation that caused her death. He barley has time to register all the facts while Singor Tivoli was point a gun at him using Alexa as a human shield. Then there is Luc ... why did the author only make his story only like 150 pages. I feel that Luc deserved his own book cataloging all he did to the men that participated down in the catacombs. Exploring his hardships and then finding his peace with Natalia. The there is issue with Sophie and her issues. She doesn't even seem to care that it was her fault she has cause her older sister so many problems. I can't believe that she is still trying to get with Gentleman Titus Cato after he tried to molest her sister in front of her! I mean seriously! You would think that would be a total turn off. And even though Natalia is right about moving forward and not looking back concerning revenge. I wanted justice for the Advisor Arturo who wronged Luc and countless others and then there is the Priest Baldassare too. Those three men needed to get their karma. Damn them.I did not feel that the author gave either Sevin or Luc their due. But I still love this series and hope she continues on and somehow relates the Tuscany Brothers to the Rome Brothers. less
