review 1: This book is a DNF for me. I'm not familiar with the series but it can be read as a standalone. I wasn't lost and the author did provide enough background information that allowed me to follow the overall plot. I am DNFing this book because I just find the book ridiculous. I don't know if I should take it seriously or not. There are two stories featuring the brothers Sevin and Luc. I managed to read half of Sevin's story and then I started skimming. Once I started skimming, I eventually put the book down and I have zero desire to pick it back up.I couldn't connect with the characters or plot. I was not interested and it didn't hold my attention. I like the cover though. That's what grabbed my attention. Sometimes reading a book because the cover is hot is not a good ... moreidea.
review 2: I was curious to see what anybody else thought of this, but for once I believe this book has hit down under first. Well after reading the earlier books in the series, I was looking forward to reading Sevin. It was a good trip down memory lane back into the world of the Satyr family, though it was a quick trip as the book ended before I felt it really began.Happy to see Luc get his happily ever after. I love the backdrop that these books are written about and the totally different world of Europe in that era. less

Fairly good writing skills. I believe this to be better written than the 50 Shades of Gray trilogy.
