One of the first places A and I went after he moved to Oregon was Silver Falls. I moved to Oregon a couple of months before him and heard about Silver Falls. I didn’t want to hike it alone with it being a 7+ mile loop. I waited for him to arrive and we were off short after he was settled in.
Silver Falls is known for this ten different water falls you see on the loop. However, South Falls is the popular location if you are not going to hike the loop. It is a beautiful location even when it is crowded with people. A and I started our hike at this location.
The hike was pretty easy and it was fun to be with each other since we hadn’t seen each other since I moved out to OR a couple of months before. It was the perfect location to start our journey together somewhere new. It was very busy in the summer time.
We liked the hike so much we brought his parents back a couple of months later and my parents did the hike themselves as well! They liked seeing all of the waterfalls and being able to see the nature around them.
I would highly recommend this hike. However, there was some elevation gain but not to much. If I am remembering correctly you go down from the very beginning at south falls. You can see south falls from the top of the hike as well if you think it will be to much.
