review 1: It's unusual for me to say this but: I like the world building and all the surrounding cast of characters, but I don't like Beatrice, the main character. In fact, I can't stand her. There is just no reasonable explanation as to why everyone is so drawn to her or what makes her so extraordinary. She has a degree in library science. Although that may be laudable, I would not call it extraordinary and incredibly accomplished. She is self centered in most of her decision making. She also always needs to be saved or protected and is stupidly stubborn . She is very aggravating. Again although overall I like these books, I'd frankly be happy if Beatrice was a victim of her own stupidity and was just killed off.One last comment. This is supposed to be the love of 500 year... mores. Yet the love scenes and moments of intimacy are tepid at best. The marriage, both civil and religious were mere footnotes. Again, not what I would expect of someone who's waited 500 years for Mrs. right.
review 2: And we've made it to a big fat 5 stars with the third installment of the Elemental series. So much happens in this book you'll be staying up until the wee hours of the morning to find out what happens next. It completely controlled all my free time and then some. Beatrice and Gio fall desperately in love with one another and even though another male is pining for her attention he really can't beat what Gio and B have together. This installment actually had a part where I cried a bit. You'll know why when you read it. Love the way the author is mixing all of the elements earth, air, water, and fire in this mystical tale of vampires and humans and a lost book that may change everything as we all know it! Heat level maybe a 2 our 10. Not hot but the story is worth it. Spoiler: Beatrice finally gets turned into a vampire! YES! I wanted to jump for joy when that happened. less

Another good, fast-paced book in this series. Well laid out and the story continues...
