review 1: Awesome book.. Not as good as the first but I am intrigued and I want to continue the series! The only bad thing about this book is that it had to end..This book makes me wish vampires did exist in this awesome story. I can not get enough of the book... I have been reading non stop for a few days now and I just finished book 2 and I will start book 3 as soon as I am Done writing this.. GREAT BOOK. I highly recommend people to read the series.
review 2: I wish I could get across how wonderful this series is...the unparalleled creativity, the well developed characters, the juxtaposition of story and real 'stuff' (I read these books with Wikipedia handy and I have LEARNED SO MUCH), the depth and complexity of plot, the intensity of the romance between Gio and Beat... morerice, and the sheer imaginative power of being able to pull all this together and make it work.Book two took be aback with the separation of Beatrice and Gio for many years and their gradual reconnection. It is an arduous journey for both of them..Beatrice is wary as her trust in Gio has been demolished; Gio doesn't realize how much damage he has done to their budding relationship. This gradual return to each other is beset with difficulties beyond imagining, including the death of a close friend, the increasing danger to Beatrice from Lorenzo (Gio's sired son who wants what Beatrice's father has and will use Beatrice to get it), Gio's newly adopted son, Ben and the continuation of the stories of other significant characters introduced in Book 1 (namely Carwyn).If you don't read another 'vampire' series this year or want a terrific read to start off 2015, do NOT miss this one. I both want and am loathe to finish. less
