review 1: Selling Scarlett is an untraditional romance, and I can almost hear you say: “What did you expect, you read a book about a girl who auctions off her virginity for money…”But you know what, that’s not what makes this romance untraditional. No, I am referring to the fact that the male protag gets caught up in a plot regarding a missing escort. Because, evidently, someone is out to frame him.Is auctioning off your virginity in public even legal? How about the middle man/business, wouldn’t that be considered pimping, and therefore, illegal? *Sigh*, I don’t know, but those kind of bids just sound ridiculously high. I wound think there were easier and cheaper ways to a wealthy guy could acquire a virgin without spending that amount of cash. Then again, I don’t real... morely know what wealthy guys do shits and giggles. I do know, however, that the villainess was simply ridiculous. The air of mystery surrounding the book was nicely done, but the romance was lackluster. The pacing was okay, I guess, but I had a hard time keeping track of all the characters. Bottom line: The end result wasn’t as sexy as I expected, and IMO, this book could just a easily have been called Framing Hunter.2.5 stars.
review 2: The summary of this book grabbed me; however, the book dragged. This book just didn't feel complete and it read as though the author was trying to fill the story with too many insignificant parts.I wasn't able to connect with the characters and even 1/2 way through the book I found myself caring less and less about what happened to the characters. There wasn't any chemistry between main characters. There were also too many insignificant characters introduced into the story that weren't needed. I will not pick up another book written by this author. less
