review 1: All of these books can be read as stand alone really but I would recommend you do read the previous books: Selling Scarlet & Taming Cross as the characters do appear in all the books to date.I have read the other two love inc. novels and was hoping there would be a book about Marchant.He has appeared in both previous books as a minor character being the owner of the Love Inc.This story does show that no matter how rich you may be there are always inner demons to be fought and whist Marchant struggles with gambling and other issues he certainly met his match in SuriThe story is easy to read and follow and you do get drawn in with the emotions the characters portray.There is quite a bit of naughtiness in this book (not over the top or sleezy) and I do enjoy that in a book.Wo... moreuld I recommend? Simply yes.
review 2: The cliffhanger was upsetting and I don't understand why it was even broken up into 2 books. I didn't hate this book, but I didn't love it so I guess I'm kind of indifferent to it. Yes, there is a cliffhanger, but there could have been more resolution to things. Not only was the first half of the book basically a recap of Taming Cross from Suri's POV, but there's still far too many questions surrounding Suri and Marchant to really enjoy this book. I don't feel like there was enough development of the relationship between her and Marchant, either. She was all hung up on Cross and her issues with Adam and then it's hello, Marchant! I don't get why they like each other. That's not explained at all, besides them both enjoying sex with the other. That's it. I feel like the build up of their feelings was really rushed and didn't have a real foundation. Actually, the whole story felt rushed. If I would have known the story was continuing into another book, I would have waited until it was out and read them together. Maybe then I would have enjoyed it more since it would be a complete story. less
