Pie in the Sky Mysteries
review 1: It took me awhile to warm up to the main character. She was a self absorbed brat. Ignoring family for a decade is just sucky. Then refusing to learn to make the family recipe for pie crust just drove me over the edge. If I hadn't been enjoying all the other aspects of the book, that would have been the last straw. Finally she got a clue and became a likable character. I went on to enjoy the book.
review 2: I won this book as a First-Read through Goodreads. This is not my normal book genre but I really like it. The author was descriptive but didn't over do it. The characters were relate-able and people I would actually be friends with. At no point did I put the book down and say "I don't want to read this anymore." I always wanted to know what happened nex
... moret and wanted it to turn out well for Maggie and Aunt Clara. I could have read it straight through if I had the time. It is written in such a way that is light but brings you right into the conversations like you were sitting there next to Ryan at Aunt Clara's dinner table. The pie recipes were a nice addition at the end. This book kept me hungry for more...literally. less
