review 1: Anyone who is reading this book with a strict interpretation will likely be disappointed if not outraged. This book comes from the era where Freud was still commonly accepted as the psychoanalytic benchmark of the social sciences, and should be taken with a grain (or pound) of salt. That said, this book is fascinating both as a glimpse into the scientific attitudes of the time, and for garnering general principles of human behavior. Remember that correlation does not prove causation, but can prove interesting if not useful within a socialites quiver of techniques and practices. With a read, if you can see past the format and era into the intentions and principles behind the book.
review 2: I can't say I have formed an opinion about this book; I have not finishe
... mored it yet. I definately kept trying to put my self in one of the five caregories- and sub-categories, but failed repeatedly. The description might get one aspect right, but get other aspects wrong. It got me wondering, though; what happens to people who lose weight and cease to be "fat"? Do they shift from one category to another, and change in terms of personality?! less

Archaic, but that was the point. Entertaining, but no real need/desire to finish it.

I like how dated yet very practical this read is so far.
