A Little Respect

Vince Clarke plays the bassline on Erasure’s ‘A Little Respect’ using a synth keyboard.

Background:

“A Little Respect” by Vince Clarke and Andy Bell of Erasure was released in September 1988 as their tenth single. It’s also on their album “The Innocents”.  Known as one of their signature songs, “A Little Respect” went to number 4 in the UK and became their fifth Top 10 single. It was also Erasure’s second consecutive Top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, where it climbed to number 14, and hit number two in the U.S.A.

My Workload:

It’s in the key of C Major and runs along at120 bpm, but because it is all on the synthesizer,  there’s no set rule for what the bass guitar may do. It’s a fairly basic but driving beat here, so lots of room for play… I love Doc 40hz version.
