review 1: I really like reading these stories in this series. I like the characters and want to find out about them. They are fast reads with no major angst although the characters have their own dramas going for them. The dramas are all ones that we have probably experienced in our lifetime. If not personally, then we have comforted a friend who has had to deal with some of the issues that are topics in these stories. Still Recommending!
review 2: Ali Timberlake has given her marriage and family everything she had. A stay at home mom, supportive wife to her husband, Mac, who is a federal judge and now the last child has left the nest, Ali finds she wants something much more than being the role she has played for twenty years. Anger, sadness and lost dreams play a ro
... morele in Ali leaving Denver and moving to Eternity Falls. Running the Bristlecone café is a dream she never thought she would achieve. The problem isn’t she fell out of love with her life but that she has no idea where to go now. Can the healing of her marriage come in Eternity Springs as Ali and Mac find out if the spark in their marriage is gone forever?I haven’t read one of Emily March’s Eternity Springs books and after reading HEARTACHE FALLS, I am definitely picking up the other two books. The writing was tight, the characters very real and I could relate to them and there was emotional storyline to draw me in. Ms. March does a great job in creating characters that deal with real life problems. Who hasn’t heard of a couple going through their own empty nest issues? Ms. March does a really good job in conveying the issues between Mac and Ali and not sugarcoating them either. Here we have two people who find themselves on opposite sides as they try to figure out what went wrong in their marriage and how to fix it, if they can that is.Meet Ali Timberlake. She doesn’t know what went wrong with her marriage but all she knows is she feels lost...adrift even as she goes through the motions each day with Mac. Finally deciding that she has had enough, she escapes to Eternity Springs, a place where she finally feels peace. I loved Ali. She is a woman dealing with the most complex emotions. Ali is a woman I can relate to. Who hasn’t questioned if they delayed or pushed aside their dreams for their families? Ali is a woman who finds strength and healing in Eternity Falls and one that she desperately needs. Mac Timberlake has finally achieved his dream of being a judge but he never anticipated the day Ali leaves him. Confused, angry and feeling lost, Mac tries to figure out what went wrong. Two people who need one another but on opposite sides of the page. Can they find their way back to one another again? It took a bit for me to warm to Mac mainly because he was so clueless for most of the book. I know I got tired of him telling Ali “to get home where she belongs.” That got my hackles up but eventually we see the man behind the gruffness and see how desperately he loves Ali. These two struck sparks-angry sparks and sexy sparks-at times and I loved how these two found that sex doesn’t really solve all the problems in the world. The secondary characters give the story depth and are quite enjoyable.HEARTACHE FALLS delivers a strong, emotional story about complex relationships and the ups and downs of marriage. Ms. March is a new to me author and one I plan to explore even more. She writes poignant stories that steal a readers’ heart and gives them an emotional story to enjoy. I really can’t wait to see what else Ms. March has up her sleeve for Eternity Springs and for her readers. I highly recommend this wonderful tale of two people rediscovering their love for one another. less
