Eternity Springs
review 1: This is book #5 in this series based around a small Colorado mountain town called Eternity Springs. At the heart of the town is Angel's Rest healing center run by Celeste Blessing, an older, mysterious and wise woman. Each book centers around a new couple who have challenges in tier lives and their relationship. Each story details how the spirit of Eternity Springs and Angel's Rest work to restore the couples - both as individuals and in their relationship. This one centers around Jack Davenport, a rich and somewhat of a loner gentleman who works for the CIA and owns Eagle's Rest, a spectacular home outside of the town. The focus of his attention is Cat, his ex-wife. Their marriage fell apart when their child was stillborn but we soon find out there was much more to their p... moreroblems than just the death of their child.Cat's house has been firebombed but it is unclear whether it is in retribution for an article she wrote exposing wrongdoings of powerful people or was it more directed at Cat's mother - a high-level executive with the CIA -- and Jack's boss?It was an interesting read as we follow Jack & Cat and their struggles and whether there is anything left to salvage of their relationship. I sometimes got a bit irritated at Cat and how emotionally unstable she seemed to be. As in all the other books, I do not get the habit of calling people (especially close friends and loved ones) by their surname but this author seems to have a fixation upon that and uses it quite frequently.
review 2: This was not one of my favorites. There was a little too much 'dog' information. Also, I never really connected with Catherine's mother. Her character was bland. I was never convinced that any role she played was real. I liked the H/H and look forward to see what happens to them in the next book. One of the reasons I like this series-the characters appear again and again so you can see how they are fairing. There is no need for an epilogue because you get it in the some of the next books. Recommend to keep reading! less
