review 1: I really enjoyed this Amish read. The community is there for one another, and the help continues until things are better! We have Rebecca with an attraction to the new Preacher, Caleb Wittner. He is a times rude to her, hiding his feelings, or trying to deal with them. He is new to the community and God has chosen him to be the new Preacher. Wow, what a new life he has walked into. He lost his wife in a fire, where he carries the burden of not being able to save her. He was also was disfigured in the fire. Now he is living in a new community in a new state.Love how the author showed that some people had problems with his looks, rather that looking at his heart. They also judged his young daughter who was struggling with the loss of her Mother. Where Rebecca and a few other... mores helped her with praise and distraction, others thought corporal punishment was what was needed...ugh!Wrap yourself in this quick, but good read. I loved it!I received this book through Net Galley and the Published Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review.
review 2: My Thoughts On This BookI really love this story, the plain life of the characters will warm your heart and draw themselves close to you. I thought Rebecca’s reaction stealing a glance at the new the preacher was adorable, and I was really hoping the two would get together from the beginning. Rebecca being in Caleb and his daughter’s life is just what they needed to help them heal from losing their wife and mother. This is a wonderful. special book to read during the Holiday Season, and I really want to encourage you to pick up a copy and read it for a few hours of Christmas enjoyment! And if you don’t have time for Christmas reading, this book can be enjoyed any day of the year! This was my first book by Emma Miller, and I am happy to have a new author to watch for now!
