review 1: This book picks up from where the first one left us, which I liked. I think this book was fast paced and still kept its great descriptive quality the author brings to us from the first. It had the back and forth which was surprisingly written well. It was a quick but nail bitting read and had a good ending. I think it could have ended here and maybe had a bit of a looking forward at where they all were a year from then and been fine. But since it continues I will read the next book and hopefully last book to see how it plays out and ends for the group.
review 2: Sky on Fire is the second installment of the series Monument 14. Sky on Fire is told in to points of view, Dean and his younger brother Alex. The story flips back and forth between Deans' and Alex's poi... morent of view. Deans' point of view is about how he tries to protect the superstore from people who want the food and first aids from themselves. He also has to deal with the fact that his brother Alex might never come back because he left to get help with a group of kids. Alex's point of view was about the hardships and trouble they got into trying to get to Denver where supposedly there is a military base camp where they can get help. But one of the many problems getting there is that Monument is about 175 miles away from Denver.I am rating this book to be 5/5 stars. I really the funny, sarcastic side of Dean that we get to see in this book. I also like how there was some good plot twist that I didn't see happening. When you thought the book was going one way, the author completely flipped it and surprised me. I would recommend this book to anyone who read the fist book in the Monument 14 series. less
