review 1: The strange and intoxicating narrative of this book started out appealingly delicious. But by about half way through, it became cloying. A little into the third quarter of the book I kept praying for the story to end, like the never ending song of a two year old child. I had a good mind to just abandon it all together but I thought something interesting just might happen around the corner, but....nothing.
review 2: This book was extremely depressing, but really made me think. Each of the characters was unique, and at several points in the novel I hated each of them...but I liked that I hated them; it made them more real (if that makes any sense at all). I felt like I was living each of their lives, feeling their sorrows and losses as they happened. It made me q... moreuestion what love really is, how it affects people, and the unexpected sadness it can bring. less
