review 1: I picked it up on a day when I wanted a light read, so I had low expectations. But even with that, it felt like a chore to read it so what was the point of moving ahead? I read the first third before I decided to scan the rest and read the end. While I guess it was a nice idea about a dissed woman realizing what was right, I didn't really feel anything for the protagonist so I didn't really care how she ended up.
review 2: This book was just what I was looking for this summer...a hilarious, witty, fun, light hearted & easy read. We get to see the main character evolve after a break up with her fiancé & boyfriend of 10 years, and also experience the continuation and formation of other friendships as a result. Though there are moments that kind of made me cri... morenge that could've been written a bit differently & maybe a little less predictable, I still loved the book for the laughs & the absurdity of some of the characters. There were a couple that even reminded me of annoying people I've come into contact with in my own life. The author's style is reminiscent of Emily Giffin or an American version of Jane Greene. Looking forward to reading her other novel & hoping for the same laughs! less
