review 1: There are certainly kids who will like this book. The illustrations are truly adorable. The concept of planning and making things for a party is attractive to party-liking kids. parents and teachers may appreciate the sequencing of events and the dealing with adversity. I say it was only "ok" because it's to neat and perfect. With that said, again, many kids will be attracted to it and will enjoy it's sweetness.
review 2: This book is sitting next to my dining room table and I can't stop looking over at it. I want Caterina to be friends with Paprika from C.R. Mudgeon. As a teacher of kids who tend to crave order and love lists, seeing Caterina let got of the expected and of her perfectionist ideals is an inspiring (AND ADORRRRRABLE) story.I didn't pounce on man... morey picture book F&Gs at ALA Midwinter (I didn't even know what an F&G was before yesterday), but I NEEDED a copy of this book. You probably do too. less
