review 1: I really loved this book. The author thought of a neat idea and she did a great with it. Both of the boys personalities stood out to me in a good way, and I especially enjoyed Seely's (is that how you spell it) character. She was very genuine, and although she had short hair and a skateboard, the author didn't go overboard with the tom boy character. Dane and Billy D are both in search of Billy's dad, and Billy wants to help Dane, even if Dane might not want the help. They become unlikely friends. This books made me really think about what it must be like to be a child without a father, or with mental disabilities. Overall great book, definitely a to read for anybody happening to be reading this review.
review 2: Dead Ends is an AWESOME book. I couldn't keep my
... more hands off of it until I finished it. The characters are very unique and absolutely not clichéd. Dane Washington, who is the narrator of the story, is a troubled teenager with really good grades. He beats up people who provokes him, unlike bullies who beat up everyone that they come across. Dane just has issues with anger management. He meets his new neighbor, Billy D, who has Down Syndrome. Both of their dads left them, Billy wants to find his dad while Dane couldn't care less about his. They to find Billy's dad by using an Atlas that he gave Billy. It is full of riddles and clues about places with interesting names. A friendship between a bully and a kid with Down Syndrome is totally unconventional! I like reading books about friendship. There are already too many books mainly about romance, and there are usually love triangles, nothing special about those. This book has great characters, cool trivia about Geography and humor. I recommend it to people who like reading YA novels and/or just like reading a good story. less

I like the relationship between the two boys a lot. The riddles in the map was a fun framework.
