review 1: Awwwwwww!A fun read that's properly balanced so it did not seem all fluff and yet no so serious that the reader can't enjoy the light adventure plot.Benedict had enough depth and the rest of the family were interesting. It would have been nice to learn more about Benedict's childhood background and the showdown against the villain was a bit silly. But if you can forgive a little polishing over beating the bad guys, this is a recommended reading!
review 2: There was nothing really wrong with this book. In fact, I really wanted to like it more than I did. The author has a very nice writing style and I liked the characters well enough. It was just that NOTHING happened that captured and held my interest. The characters had dinner a couple of times, made cow ... moreeyes at each other, and conveniently ran into each other where they could exchange words and think lustful thoughts about the other. The story lacked interesting tension which caused me to lose interest. After 150 pages, I had to give up, but maybe that is an indication of my own reading preferences, rather than through any fault of the author. As I said in the beginning, Ms. Knightley's writing is fine, but her pacing (in my opinion only) could use some work. But it wouldn't keep me from trying another story by her in the future. less
