Sealed With a Kiss
review 1: Flirting with Fortune, Sealed with a Kiss #3, by Erin KnightleyGrade: B+“Everything about her- her smell, her taste, her size and even her voice- seemed custom-made to drive him mad.”Lady Beatrice Moore is an open book. She loves to paint and hates fortune hunters. When Beatrice is introduced to the son of her favorite painter she is blown away not only to learn more about her idol but is swept away by his son Colin. Colin is everything that Beatrice has ever wanted and for once a man isn’t interested in her just for her dowery. With her love life in good standing Beatrice makes it her mission to warn the other young ladies of the ton about fortune hunters and not everyone is happy about it. Sir Colin Tate must find a wife and a rich one fast if he is to keep the fam... moreily estate and his brother, sister and gram off the streets. Colin never expected someone of Beatrice’s standings to be interested in him but he finds himself head over heels in love with her. Colin must find a way to convience Beatrice he loves her and not her dowry and do it before she walks out of his life forever. I am in love with this series and it is by far at the top of must must read historical romance books. I have been eagerly anticipating Beatrice’s book since we first met her and I was really worried about the man she would fall for. Luckily Colin did not disappoint and I ended up loving him by the end. I found I enjoyed this book more than the other because there was no letter writing or switching from the past to the present. I found that without this the story flowed better and kept my attention a lot better. Beatrice and Colin dance around each other for a lot of the book and neither seems to be able to be completely honest with each other. It seemed that I waited the entire book for everything to be exposed and I wish it had happened sooner and we could have had more time of these two together. Besides that these two are adorable and couldn’t be better matched. I found myself smiling whenever they were together and loved watching them falling in love. This is such a great addition to an amazing series. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes historical romances but start at the beginning of the series so you know what’s going on.
review 2: I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of Erin Knightley's Flirting with Fortune. Let me tell you, this was a fantastic read! This is the third book in the Sealed With A Kiss series, although you can read it without having read the first two. (However, they are both greatly recommended!) The story revolves around Lady Beatrice Moore, a woman from a wealthy family, and Sir Colin Tate, the son of a famous artist who is trying to make good on his late father's debts. Lady Beatrice would rather focus on her art than deal with fortune hunters out looking for a rich wife. But after a surprise meeting with Colin, she finds herself intrigued with him. Colin, whose father was an artist that Bea admired greatly, has come to England's high society with the goal of finding a wealthy wife. This is not because he is a horrible man, but rather because as the head of his family, he needs to take care of his family back home in Scotland. Colin finds himself falling in love, but struggles with the inner conflict of his original quest. He knows if the truth comes out to Bea, she will never forgive him. But how can he turn his back on the woman he loves?I have to say that Ms. Knightley's style of writing is wonderful! One of my favorite scenes in the book is when Colin and Bea share their first kiss. As she leads up to the kiss, I actually had butterflies in my stomach the way I did when I kissed my own husband for the first time. Ms. Knightley is able to write a scene where the reader feels as though she is living through the main characters. You can't help but be excited when they are excited, smile with them in their happiness and cry when Bea's world is shattered with revelation of the true reason behind Colin's search for coming to town.Flirting with Fortune will be available on September 3, 2013. I definitely recommend adding it to your to-be-read list! less
