review 1: I admit I loved seeing Suzanne & Ryder's perspectives in the previous two books and it was nice to see a couple scenes in this book from outside characters. Suzanne comes off harsh in the previous books, which gives you an idea of what you're walking into, however then you are totally into these two point of views with little outlet and there's only so much "you idiot," one can yell at a book. I personally can't stand the head in the sand concept. It just makes me want to yell. Poor Ryder actually tries with Suzanne who basically throws him a bone here and there, then throws a fit. This continues through out a good portion of the book of her with her head in the sand. The reason I still give it 4 stars is because there is finally progress on her part. The sex is hot and Ry... moreder might be a dolt most of the time when trying coax out her nonexistent romantic side, but he tries and he tries. I think however there needed to be more on her part than his when it come to revealing emotions. I still don't understand why she was so closed off, but it was what it was. Luckily like all Erin's books there is a happy ending. I will continue to read this series.
review 2: I've taken my time after reading this book before reviewing it because I'm surprised at how disappointed I feel. I loved Elec in Flat Out Sexy, and liked Ty in Hard and Fast. Both of which surprised me as I've never had an interest in stock cars or stick car drivers. But this series is more than that. And Suzanne and Ryder seemed so promising - having been weaved throughout the first two books in the series. Suzanne, in the earlier books, was sassy. She came across as confident and assured. She also seemed to be in love with Ryder, even though she wouldn't have admitted it. In this book though - her book - she seemed insecure, a buzzkill for the most part, and stubbornly ignorant to her own feelings. I think maybe the book couldn't live up to what I expected it to be based on the previous two books. But I forced my way through the book at certain points. So in the end this gets two and a half stars from me. less
