review 1: This is the first book in Erin Nicholas' new Anything and Everything series. Sabrina Cassidy has spent her life making wrong decisions. Growing up in the small town of Justice she always wanted more than she thought the town had to offer. Leaving behind everyone she knows to seek a music career, 4 years have passed quickly. No nearer now to singing on a stage in Nashville and reeling from one of the worst decisions in her life, she decides that going back to Justice is the right and only choice she has. Her best friend Luke, who loved her and wanted her to stay in Justice and marry him, never got over her, or so Luke's business partner and friend, Marc, believes. When Sabrina's car breaks down and with only $19.36 to her name, she calls the only person she knows will help ... moreher, Luke. Only its not Luke whom she talks to but Marc. Her surprise is total when Marc arrives instead of Luke. Marc believes he is saving his best friend, Luke, from Sabrina. Sabrina fights an immediate attraction to Marc. Marc is willing to send her anywhere she wants to go and pay for expenses as long as its not in Justice but Sabrina is determined to go home. Will Marc convince her to stay away? Will Sabrina convince Marc she's not the selfish bitch he thinks her to be? Will they manage to fight the attraction they feel towards each other? And what of Luke? And what of Kay, Sabrina's friend in Justice who knows of Sabrina's reason for coming home? Those questions and the artful and at times surprising way they are answered will keep you turning the pages of this book til the end. This is a terrific stand alone book and at the same time a wonderful beginning to the story of these terrific characters!
review 2: Erin gives us a great story from start to finish. I did not want to put this book down. She has a way of making you laugh and cry as you root for the hero and heroine get together that you just have to keep reading.Sabrina left home four years ago to follow her dreams of being a musician, knowing she could not do it in the small town she grew up in. She left Luke behind with a broken heart when he wouldn’t go with her. Now, with no job and broke she is on her way home. What else could go wrong? How about her car breaks down and she’s dealing with morning sickness. Her best friend is not available to come get her, so she has to call Luke to ask him to come pick her up and drive her back home the remaining six hour drive. The only problem is Luke isn’t the one that meets her at the hotel.Mark has dealt with Sabrina using Luke all their life and he was thrilled when she left years ago. Now she’s calling for Luke and he will not let her hurt his best friend again. When Sabrina calls and wants Luke he pretends to be him and agrees to pick her up. Because Luke would run right out for her he decides not to tell him and goes after her himself. He’ll find a way to talk her out of coming home even if he has to pay her to leave. They have known each other most of their lives and never liked one another. Now Mark is determined to keep her away as much as she is determined to return home. As they argue with each another the sparks start to fly as things heat up and they can’t understand why these feeling are happening and don’t want to accept them. When Luke offers Sabrina a way out of her situation of not having a job and no husband to help raise her child by offering marriage Mark has had all he can take. Will he admit his true feelings for Sabrina before it’s too late, or will she marry the wrong man? less
