review 1: The worst I can say is that it is at the least better than stroker/cheap bodice ripper paranormal romance erotica. I am lenient about this observation because I realize writing is hard, romance harder, paranormal romance hardest. This being said, I loved the uniqueness of the love interest pairing - tall, manly wolf shifter and short, curvy BBW bear shifter. This is the first time I have come across a BBW female character that was not fetish focused like she was an object. While the manner in which the story is written could be improved, the story concept itself adds some sorely needed variety in the genre. Not every person wants to read about warrior women and warrior men both with socially "perfect" bodies, even in paranormal romance erotica. The fact that she is shorter,... more softer and plump was the attraction for me. That she was a kindergarten teacher was even more attractive. We need more characters with typically more "normal" professions in paranormal romance and it delivers. While I still think the male lead character is an asinine, judgmental prat through most of the book, he at least redeems himself in my mind and eyes with the fact that he learns more about her, figures out that love (even perfect predestined mate matches) cannot be controlled, and that beauty and desirability are not fixed parameters.I think the story idea can be improved with revisions, but even as the work is now it give me a taste that I have not found anywhere else so far. It is a work that gives a happy ending for gals who are not the "perfect" size/shape/height a feeling that they get the hot guy too. I like seeing diversity in paranormal romance erotica works. I also enjoy reading about BBW characters that are not fetish objects in the story. It is also a fast read, at least for me. I completed it in one day and wished it had been longer. I would recommend it for someone wanting something "different" than the typical, mainstream paranormal romance erotica fare. It feels like an everyday, neighbor next door type of story, much more personal than the "perfect" specimen works.
review 2: This book is so darn cute. I was skeptical at first, mostly because shape-shifter or paranormal book isn't really my thing. I kind of stop with Twilight and True Blood. Sure I still read some of them but they're not exactly my first choice. This book, I have my eyes set on it because it contained curvy heroine. I haven't found good book with curvy heroine on it besides books of Angela Verdenius. But this book, gladly saying, is one of the best. Why? Because the Teddy is insecure enough to make me love her. Not desperately but just enough. And Reece, oh dear lord, Reece. He just won't give up, isn't he. I love it! And the shape-shifter thingy, I think in this book they didn't really become a major theme. But overall, I enjoyed it. Good one! less
