Cyborgs: More Than Machines
review 1: This book did not disappoint. It was everything I have come to expect to get from an Eve Langlais book. Sexy cyborgs, evil doctors, steamy lovin, risky missions... What’s not to love about this book. It did flip from past to present each chapter for a little while. The chapters were clearly labeled past or present, so there was no confusion. After a while it did stay in the present. I think it was brilliant blending them that way. There was not a bog of information in the front, but we were not left guessing either. There was no whiplash feeling from the time changes. Poor Anastasia had a bad case of lady doth protest too much. She really stood no chance to Seth’s seduction. My absolute favorite was “accidentally” spilling liquid on every stitch of clothing while ... moreshe was in the shower, so they had to go nekkid, and btw did I mention he “forgot” to turn on the machine. If you haven’t read this book yet, pick it up now. Reviewed By Confessions Of A BookLovinJunkie Blog
review 2: The Cyborgs:More than Machines sci-fi series continues to excite in this fifth installment that nicely blends the past and present to show the compelling relationship between Anastasia and Seth as they go from being regular soldiers to enhanced ones. As the government takes over their bodies and lives their fledgling relationship is over before it barely began as the cyborg soldiers now fight back to regain their right to life in a war that's just beginning.Seth finally has his story told in this fast-paced and intriguing read that shows a man who never lost him humanity and love for the only woman to ever hold his heart no matter how many implants or genetic manipulations the government has done. Throughout everything Seth kept his charming ways and sensual nature as he was reunited with Anastasia in a daring plan to save even more cyborgs and bring down those who committed the crimes against them in the first place. Everything Seth has done since first seeing Anastasia has been to stay by her side. He became a cyborg to remain in the program with her and sacrificed his body repeatedly to keep her safe and I found that loyalty and devotion extremely admirable. His interactions with her were full of sexual tension as he took every opportunity to remind her of why they needed to reunite in numerous playful and steamy sexual interludes. Seth was a larger than life character who completely won me over and who made every scene better, whether it be a romantic one or one involving the brotherly banter between him and the other male cyborgs.Anastasia entered into the cyborg program as she was tired of being second best. The strength the enhancements gave her was intoxicating, but as she was manipulated further by the government, the relationship she had with Seth imploded. She needs him now though and as usual he's there for her as she's totally focused on her plan to bring the scientists down. Throughout it all she continues to fight the feelings that never truly left which left me frustrated with her as she uses Seth yet again. She never seemed as fully invested as Seth in their coupledom which was disappointing as he was such a delightful hero. She redeems herself somewhat as her plan comes to a quickly wrapped-up conclusion but even then his sacrifices far outweigh hers.Ms. Langlais' sci-fi series continues to entertain as the outcome becomes more imperative to the cyborg's survival. The scientists have even more nefarious plans that will radically change not only the cyborg's lives but all humans. It's a constant struggle in this fast-paced and unique series full of compelling characters and is one that fans of sci-fi will definitely want to read. Seth is an entertaining read with a to die for hero and I look forward to the next release! less

I almost gave it 5 starts but I really disliked the flash backs. It distracted from the story IMO
